What We Believe
We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, inerrant, infallible, and of supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
We believe that God is One and yet three Persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit; that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, suffered and died on the cross, rose from the dead, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father ever to make intercession for us, and will come again to take His church to Heaven and to judge the unbelieving world. (Matthew 28:19; John 1:1, 14; Philippians 2:5-11)
We believe that salvation is wholly by grace through faith in Christ; that everyone who by faith receives Jesus as their Savior is born again into God’s family and is eternally secure. We believe that all who accept Christ should follow Him in believer’s baptism and are eligible to participate in the regular observance of the Lord’s Supper. (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12; 10:28; Acts 2:38; 1 Corinthians 11:23f)
We believe that the local church is a visible expression of the Body of Christ, a voluntary association of believers equal in rank and privilege, independent of any external control, with freedom of deliberation and decision under God and His Word, which is her only rule of faith and practice. (Acts 2:41-47; 6:1-17)
